Views of Rock Creek Park...

Today Lee Ann and I went on a hike through Rock Creek Park on a perfect fall day here in DC. The following pictures are a collection of some of the seasonal views after a late transition of the leaves. As seen, there is a lot of lush green in these photos. But certain trees were vibrant oranges, yellows and reds and were ready to shed their spring and summer-wear.

"A Blue Hue"

This site had quite a photographic nature to it. Flying from Hartford, CT to Ronald Regan International Airport, the plane took a route over southern Maryland yielding beautiful scenery at the edges of the Atlantic.

A Little Taste of DC

At the Taste of DC a couple of weeks ago Big and Rich, apparently a big country band, played on a stage on Penn Ave. The Capitol Building stole the show as it made a perfect backdrop.

Princeton University.

These door handles made me feel as if I were in the Medieval Ages. The definition, character, and texture are all so ever-present on this door, which can be chilling in this black and white below.

Trips to Baltimore

Having spent much time trying to capture a positive Red Sox moment in Baltimore last week, I realized that there in fact was not positive to them throwing their season away. But a camera in hand often allows you to escape some of the stressors of life. Below is a shoeshine station during a late night return through Union Station. There were no workers but the rustic wood and worn leather represents the efforts of a hard earned pay. It is in these seats that stratification of a society is brought to life.

The descending stairs to platform 9 3/4. Lee Ann thought she was getting into Hogwarts by running down there as fast as she did. What caught me most about this frame was the juxtaposing lines throughout the scene. You can almost see the architect's blueprint and the complexity of the intersecting lines.
