Trips to Baltimore

Having spent much time trying to capture a positive Red Sox moment in Baltimore last week, I realized that there in fact was not positive to them throwing their season away. But a camera in hand often allows you to escape some of the stressors of life. Below is a shoeshine station during a late night return through Union Station. There were no workers but the rustic wood and worn leather represents the efforts of a hard earned pay. It is in these seats that stratification of a society is brought to life.

The descending stairs to platform 9 3/4. Lee Ann thought she was getting into Hogwarts by running down there as fast as she did. What caught me most about this frame was the juxtaposing lines throughout the scene. You can almost see the architect's blueprint and the complexity of the intersecting lines.

  1. So immature by Lee Ann. However (cue: pushing my bifocals up), the final picture does well to express the lonely, empty feeling at the end of the Red Sox season.

  2. It's ok to be jealous, Joey. Maybe next year Hogwarts will send you an owl invitation too.

Also, Joey, your Red Sox analogy is fitting and makes the picture more meaningful for fans. I can't comment more on the photo though; I'm just excited to be featured in a photo. :)

I don't care for the "Worn Workplace". To be brutally honest, it's just a dark boring picture to me.

I do really like the baseball field though. The lines are enticing!

  3. Blue print of a station is my least favorite here. Not sure why other than it seems so normal.

I disagree with Lee Ann here about worn workplace. The textures and the colors give it a real atmosphere. In this case, I don't mind the lack of contrast with respect to color. There is a very real contrast between soft and hard edges.

I'm inbetween on End of Season. Cool perspective and that blue light looks like aliens landing, but other than that it's kind of meh.
